Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza & Funky Buddha Launch Signature Brew in New York
Every great pie deserves a great beer to go with it. The iconic Fuhgeddaboudit Red beer, created by Fort Lauderdale-based Funky Buddha Brewery exclusively for Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza, has made its way to New York.
Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza, the South Florida-based concept that uses authentic coal-burning ovens to create “well done pizza,” debuted the fiery-colored ale in Florida last year. Now, this signature craft beer is available at Anthony’s New York locations in Bohemia, Carle Place, Commack, Great Neck, Wantagh, White Plains and Woodbury. This is the first time nationally-recognized Funky Buddha Brewery has expanded distribution outside its home state.
“When I first tasted Funky Buddha’s brews, I knew we could team up and create something great,” said Anthony Bruno, founder and CEO of Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza. “Our fans in Florida love Fuhgeddaboudit Red and I’m excited we’re finally bringing it to my home state.”
Dubbed an Italian-American ale, Fuhgeddaboudit Red (5.4% ABV) is crafted with a blend of European barley and English hops. Flavorful enough to balance the intense crunch of coal-fired crust yet refined precisely to pair with delicate tomato sauce, Fuhgeddaboudit Red Ale is the perfect complement to Anthony’s “well done” pizza and Italian Soul Food.
“To me, there’s no better pairing than having a slice of Anthony’s outstanding coal-fired pizza with a Fuhgeddaboudit Red ale,” said Funky Buddha Brewery Brand Director John Linn. “We’re thrilled that craft beer fans in New York will finally get to experience the two together.”
Founded in 2010 in Boca Raton, Florida, Funky Buddha Brewery is committed to producing bold craft beers that marry culinary-inspired ingredients with time-honored technique. Its Oakland Park production brewery opened in June 2013 and distributes draft beer to retail outlets throughout Florida.
