Anthony’s Opens in Wantagh, NY

Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza, the South Florida-based concept that uses authentic coal-burning ovens to create “well done pizza,” opens today in Wantagh, NY. The newest restaurant – located at 3430 Sunrise Highway in the Wantagh Town Plaza – will be Anthony’s third Long Island location and 36th in the nation.

Bringing flavor to his Long Island roots, founder and CEO Anthony Bruno is excited about the Wantagh opening.

“Our coal fired pizza is so popular in New York, we’re expanding even more on Long Island,” said Bruno. “I’m happy to bring our pizza and soul food even closer to our friends and family in Wantagh.”
Known for its high-energy atmosphere and signature menu items, Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza uses 800-degree anthracite coal-burning ovens and the highest quality ingredients. Anthracite is known to be the “cleanest” of coals, burning smoke free with extremely high heat to create a unique taste and perfect pies. In addition to its famous pizzas, the restaurant’s simple and consistent menu features award-winning “Italian Soul Food” creations including coal-oven-roasted chicken wings with caramelized onions, pork ribs with vinegar peppers, home-style meatballs made from a family recipe and Eggplant Marino (named for Dan Marino).

In addition to a wide beer and wine selection, the Wantagh location will also feature a full-liquor bar.

Hours of operation for the Wantagh location will be 11:30 a.m. – 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11:30 a.m. – 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. In addition to dining in, patrons can carry out by calling 516-679-2625.
